HOW TO ORGANIZE A PARTY DURING RAINY SEASON

As a tropical country, we only have dry and wet season. Organizing parties in the Philippines are great during summer but the question is, what if the date you are eyeing falls on a rainy days.

We feel your worries so we have prepared tips on what to consider if you are planning to have one.

Check the weather forecast. As cliché as it may sound, this plays a big factor in pulling off your party. The people you’ll invite to attend your special day are the people dear to you and we want to consider their safety.

There are some trusted sources to check like accuweather.com or Google where you can even check the hourly status. Light rain shower is ok but you might want to reconsider if it progress to thunderstorm.

Venue. It pays to visit the location ahead of time. If the chosen place is outdoor, check if there’s a covered place to accommodate your guests as a backup plan if in case the weather did not improve. If the venue is indoor but parking is not covered, you can secure providing pick up service with umbrellas for your guests so they’ll be warm and comfy when they arrive.

Location. One thing you can also check is the flood point located near the venue. You can provide alternate route in case the flooded area is part of the way going to the place.

Suppliers. Talk to your suppliers and advise what will be their plan if in case it’ll rain on the actual event. If the venue is outdoor, some suppliers can provide tents for rent in case needed.

Traffic and sudden dilemmas can be expected if it’s raining hence you can tell your suppliers about this concern so they can secure providing service on time. Suppliers can sometimes be located far from the venue hence this should be put in mind as well.

Play upbeat music. Did you know that bad weather can have negative effect on your emotions? Study even shows, rain increases the number of negative posts published on Facebook. Having said that, we want to make sure we take a conscious effort to make our party as lively as we could.

Being the host, we want to play upbeat music to set the proper mood and vibe so everyone can enjoy the moment.

Celebrant. Above all, it’s the person whose celebrating the occasion that matters the most. Whether the celebrant decides to push for the celebration as planned or decided to postpone or cancel the booked date, the important thing is the love that makes your family and loved ones stay regardless which way you chose to celebrate it.
